Professional Development Course certificates are issued at the LLU’s annual graduation.
All certificates will be embossed with The UWI logo but not the The UWI seal. The seal is applicable for certificates which are awarded through senate-approved programmes.
Professional development courses will run for 10 to 13 weeks. Before registration, attendees will be advised of the timeline for each course.
Cash and cheque payments can be made at The UWI FIC on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8.30 a.m. until 1.30 p.m. An additional payment option is Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT).
The Project Management fee is ECD$875.The fee for all other courses is ECD$675.
Entry to degree programmes will be assessed on a case-by-case basis, and the necessary exemptions granted at the point of entry.
Continued Professional Development programmes are an important part of a progressive organization. Whether through personal registration or as a customized course offered by a specific organization, short courses are a useful approach to reskilling, upskilling and earning credentials. Further, participants will be more prepared for work in the global labour market.
Facilitators will determine the most appropriate method whereby students should be assessed.
No. Courses are designed to introduce new learners to the fields of study. More experienced learners will become knowledgeable of latest research and industry best practice.
Class sessions are three hours weekly. Students should commit additional time to revision of notes, and research.
There are no prerequisites required for the LLU professional development courses.
Online courses are offered synchronously, that is, the course facilitator presents to the class at a specific time on each occasion.
Customized professional courses will be offered online via interactive features, knowledgeable and engaging facilitators.
