    Biography

    “Tell me…I forget, Show me…I remember, Involve me…I understand” (Carl Orff), an academic motto that Mrs. Rochelle Zachariah-Gore holds. As a Lecturer within the SOHBS, UWI, she exemplifies the hard work cultivated in beginning her journey towards the noble profession of nursing. Her seasoned professional experience includes over ten years in the Intensive Care Unit at the Holberton Hospital, Assistant Clinical Instructor at Northern Caribbean University, Clinical Preceptorship, and clinical duties at the Andrews Hospital in Mona, Jamaica.

    Mrs. Zachariah-Gore holds a Certificates in General Nursing, Midwifery, Advanced Nursing, and in The Science of Safety in Healthcare from John Hopkins. She also holds a BSN and a Master’s degree in the area of Nursing Informatics. She is presently pursuing studies towards a PhD in Leadership/ Gerontology degree and will be committed to the physiological needs of the elderly. While one’s academic journey never ends, Mrs. Zachariah-Gore hopes to bring a change in the care management of the elderly through education and policy development. This future change will help advocate for the vulnerable of the State to be recognized as an autonomous and resilient population at a time when the global rate of successfully aging individuals is increasing. Throughout her academic journey, Mrs. Zachariah-Gore has become a member of the Sigma Phi Omega Chapter and encourages students to endeavor to achieve their highest potentials.

    Mrs. Zachariah-Gore, during her academic discourse, hopes to have learners involved in their learning experience to become critical thinkers propelling transformational leadership with scholarship in any area of the healthcare sector.

    As a wife, Mrs. Zachariah-Gore when not involved in academics, has held several church related positions Mrs. Zachariah-Gore recognizes that life must be balanced and takes the opportunity to enjoy additional past-times such as baking, gardening, loving animals, and crafting.
