Master of Public Health

About the Programme

The Master of Public Health (MPH) degree at The UWI Five Islands provides students with advanced knowledge and skills for addressing challenging public health concerns in the Caribbean and beyond. This programme benefits individuals by increasing their knowledge of epidemiology, health policy, and environmental health, preparing them for leadership positions in public health organisations, government agencies, and international health bodies. For organisations, the MPH curriculum graduates well-rounded professionals capable of designing and implementing evidence-based public health initiatives, managing health systems, and effectively responding to emerging health threats. Graduates can help to improve population health outcomes, reduce health inequities, and build health system resilience. The program's emphasis on regional public health issues makes it particularly useful for addressing the unique challenges faced by Caribbean nations, noncommunicable illnesses, disaster preparedness, and health inequities. The MPH programme develops a cadre of public health leaders capable of driving positive change in their communities and organisations by integrating theoretical knowledge and practical abilities.
