    Biography
    Dr. Cleopatra Gittens is a lecturer in the School of Business and Management at the University of the West Indies, Five Islands Campus. Her areas of expertise are finance and accounting. Prior to joining the faculty at the University of the West Indies, Five Islands, she was the Accountant General for the Government of Antigua and Barbuda. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Education from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus. She also has a master’s Degree in Business Education and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the Bernard M. Baruch College, City University of New York. Dr. Gittens held various positions at the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) the last being, Director of the Banking and Monetary Operations Department. At the ECCB, she spent most of her time as an Investment Officer. She has taught at the tertiary level for a combined total of twelve years. Her research interests are public financial management, social security reform and banking.
